On the Road again

Seven and a half inches of snow fell in 3 hours in March while we were being repaired. We were thankful they allowed us to stay in the building as we had no front door!
How we looked the day they started the repairs
After first day of repairs. We went without a door for eight days.
Ready for the paint shop and sanding
First day in the paint booth
Almost ready, still need finishing touches and a wash job.
All done and in our first campground since the repairs, Lake Twawkoni, TX
All repaired and better than ever, the 'new' Tweety!

After 39 days (we waited two weeks for the parts to come in) we are better than new! Our new Mexico Tweety suffered damage in the accident and even he is better than new now. God was definitely in control as the trailer we are picking up in GA wasn't ready when we had planned to pick it up. It should be ready Friday, Apr 4 and we are on our way there now. Also Larry was able to sign the repair facility up as an Amsoil account which is a really big plus as they have lots of vehicles and equipment that will benefit from Amsoil products.

If you ever need body repair to your RV or vehicles and are near Denton, TX we highly recommend North Texas RV Repair. They do a super job and are well worth the added miles to get to them!

Extended stay in Texas

Oil leak in El Paso, TX
Texas sunset in Haslet, TX where we met friends for dinner
North Texas RV Repair, Krum, TX
Our 'home' spot for the next few weeks while getting our rig repaired.

We encountered some problems along the way to TX, so will be here longer than we had planned. God has been so good and provided for us and protected us. PTL! We were involved in an accident in AZ and then developed an oil leak (unrelated to the accident) that we found in El Paso. We spent three days at Cummins in El Paso to get the oil leak repaired (new oil pan that was covered under warranty with three months to go! PTL) and now we are at North Texas RV Repair in Krum, TX waiting for parts to repair the front end damage. These folks do a great job and we are quite satisfied with them. We are staying in their back lot with electric and water hookups and are close to Denton, TX so have lots to see and do while we are waiting. We know God has us here for a reason.

January Wedding

The 'I Do's'
The wedding party
First bite of wedding cake (it was really good!)
Our grandkids Bethany, Colby, Alex, Shane and Ceret
Our son, Todd and his wife LaTia with grandkids, Alex, Bethany, Colby and his girlfriend, Jess in the background.

The happy couple, Mr and Mrs Vince Leone

Our big news this month is our daughter Dawn's wedding to Vince on Jan 18. Of course she was a lovely bride and everything went well. They went to the Bahamas on a cruise for their honeymoon.

We leave AZ in 10 days heading for TX for three weeks before moving on east, heading to GA to pick up our enclosed trailer. Larry is starting to get excited about the trailer and I will be SO glad to be back in the motorhome in the co-pilot seat!

We went to Tombstone,AZ last week and saw CNN do a live 'man on the street' upload. We were invited inside the bus and that was quite an experience! They have 10 TV's going, 2-25 watt generators, six A/C units and a HUGE satellite dish on top. Larry said 'forget the cowboys, I want to see that bus!' There were seven guys traveling from SC primary to LA for the primary there on Feb 5 and stopping along the way to see how 'rural' America views the upcoming election. They were in Tombstone for only one hour so we picked the right time to go!

Happy New Year!

Our granddaughter Bethany singing her solo at her schools 'Holiday Concert'
Our new Tweety Christmas tree ornament, a gift from good friends
Enjoying pie at our Christmas get-together
New Tweety that greets you as you come to our door
Our new Tweety stained glass medallion from Mexico

I'm late in posting this, sorry. We were quite busy over the holidays and then Larry got sick and wasn't able to attend our Christmas gathering with the kids. He is fine now but it did take him some time to feel 100% again.

We are currently in Casa Grande, AZ at one of our favorite parks. We drove our car to Yuma and Algodones, MX to get our teeth fixed, get Larry new glasses and fine some 'Tweety" bargins. We came away poorer but happy. Larry tried 'progressive' lens and so far is very happy with them. He said trifocals with lines make him 'look old'.

Back in warm AZ

This is the nice site where we are in Phoenix. The patio is several feet longer than the coach!
Larry with grandson Colby, checking out Grandpa's new phone

Our two granddaughters on Thanksgiving. The younger one, Bethany, is now taller than her cousin, Ceret.

We are in Phoenix at a new park. Ellen won a month here when we were in Redmond, OR at
The Rally. We have a really nice site with mail delivery to our door, something we haven't had in over twenty years!
We had Thanksgiving at our daughter's home. We haven't seen our son yet but are hoping to see him on Monday when we are going to the east side of town. We stay pretty busy while we are here with Doctors appointments, visiting family and friends and checking out our favorite places to shop. Larry is the shopper and knows his way around the area so likes to get 'things' here.

70th annual Potato Festival Parade, Merrill

Minature Merrill water tower
Galloping Glitzs
Lost River High School Band
Really small RV, great big truck!
Festival Queen and her court float
2007 Grand Marshall, Dan Boyd
What we woke to on the morning we left
Snow on the car AGAIN!

We woke up to snow Oct 20 the day of the Potato Festival and the day we left OR. The snow was gone by the time we went through Cedar Pass in CA and we had a good trip with no problems. We are now in Pahrump, NV and it has been 'old home week' as we have seen six sets of friends that we have met in the last four years on the road. We are finally warm and it is great to be wearing shorts again! We were unable to find another trailer so I'm driving the car. Larry was able to get 9.2mpg on the motorhome and he is really happy about that. The car also did better than we expected so all is well. God always does know what is best!

BACK IN MERRILL

We are back in Merrill again preparing for our trip south. We unexpectantly sold our open car trailer so we are looking for a cheap one to use until we get to GA in March 2008 to pick up the new enclosed trailer we have ordered. Since our car is not towable I will have to drive it the 3000+ miles if we don't find a cheap replacement, but God knows best and we are sure He will guide.

We had SNOW yesterday afternoon for about 10 minutes!! It didn't stick and I tried to take pictures (see above) but all you can see are small white streaks that are really big snow flakes. We are hoping the weather will warm up again or it will be a looong three weeks before we leave!!
